Mike Screen was born in 1964 in Wales and has lived near Portsmouth for the past 20 years. He went to the Gwent College of Higher Education to study for a Foundation Course in Art and Design before going to South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education where he got a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and Sculpture. Later, he moved to Sheffield and got a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, specialised in Craft Design and Technology at City Polytechnic. Naturally hugely creative, Mike is now taking a break from Education and spending all his spare time painting and drawing. He has recently developed a deep interest in nautical art, and is currently working on a portfolio based on studies of decaying and abandoned ships and boats.
Mike can create a piece of art from scratch, or from a picture such as the blue Volkswagen Beetle he made recently. He can make amazing copies of a cherished vehicle: a vintage car or a motorbike. He can also create copies of masterpieces such as this Jack Vettriano canvas, a copy of “Mad Dogs and Englishmen”.
If you would like to commission a painting, please do not hesitate to contact Mike. Or if you would like to purchase one of his work, or a print of his work, you can do so on the following website http://www.saatchiart.com/mikeypaintandpencil.
